  Delivered advanced instruction in data structures, algorithms and software engineering for industry professionals. I also taught software engineering using Python and JavaScript, and led courses on Machine Learning Fundamentals for bootcamp students.

  Built new data-driven software for Business Bank.

• Machine Learning Engineer

  Entelect - Standard Bank Corporate and Investment Banking - Digital Insights: 2020-2022

  Led a small team of Data Engineers, Software Engineers and Data Scientists to build FX Tips, a data-driven tool that tips corporate clients to buy or sell Forex products. The project is fully in production and brought in around $300,000 in revenue, making it profitable within its first 6 months of launch. I wrote the very first lines of code for the project and orchestrated the different components and pipelines needed to predict the propensity to buy or sell a Forex product. The Python project was supported by CI/CD, cloud, TensorFlow, Git and Control-M.

• Software Engineer

  Entelect - Standard Bank Corporate and Investment Banking - Risk: 2019-2020

  Worked in a team of 3 to automate the generation of Forex reports for internal use by Standard Bank Risk teams. The reports were previously produced with specialised licensed software that was expensive in the long term, so the aim was to build an in-house replacement. I was responsible for the main backend codebase holding all the logic, which involved structuring the backend server and writing the API endpoints for each use case. This Docker-based API project is in production and performs on par with the software originally bought for the purpose.

  Lectured 1st and 2nd year students on Introduction to Programming using C++ and Python, Data Structures and Algorithms, and Computer Networks.

• Machine Learning Engineer

  Retro Rabbit - Nedbank: 2019

  Worked on Avo by Nedbank. I wrote the initial customer segmentation logic to group the potential customers by spending habits. I was also closely involved in improving the customer experience by collecting customer data from both the app and other sources to propose better products.

• Machine Learning Engineer

  Retro Rabbit - Kalido: 2018-2019

  Worked on Kalido. My role was mainly to maintain and improve the Machine Learning models for the systems on AWS Cloud. This involved reading new papers, A/B testing, creating custom datasets and training models.
